What awaits you
This is a trail rider’s week. You stay mostly in Ouirgane, by the lake, and ride a different network every day: village paths around Asni, a big descent from the Tamatert pass, a back-country night in Ait Zitoun, a mule-assisted crossing and a final day of jumps and canyon edges on the Kik plateau.Expect rocky, technical sections and the odd short hike-a-bike. The 4×4 support vehicle carries your bags and can shorten any day.
Itinerary
-
Arrival in Marrakech
Transfer to a riad in the medina, a short briefing, then an evening walk through the souks and dinner near Jemaa el-Fna.
-
Asni – Tinzert – Toror – Ouirgane (28 km, +700 m, −900 m)
After lunch in Asni we climb steadily, then drop into rocky village singletrack, past an old salt mine and between garden terraces down to the lake at Ouirgane.
-
Tamatert – Ikkiss – Imsker – Asni (24 km, +350 m, −1,400 m)
We shuttle to the Tizi n’Tamatert (2,100 m) and let the bikes run: technical trails through tiny villages, lunch in Imsker, then a superb technical singletrack through orchards.
-
Ouirgane – Ait Zitoun (28 km, +850 m, −750 m)
A trail above an impressive gorge, a short hike-a-bike, then 10 km of descending along the river. Night in Ait Zitoun with a hammam and a starry roof terrace.
-
Ait Zitoun – Ourmer – Imgdal – Ouirgane (28 km, +700 m, −1,050 m)
A climb with stream crossings to an 1,800 m pass, a fast narrow descent and a rocky river valley. Late lunch under the poplars and an afternoon by the pool.
-
Mule day: Amislane – Tizgui – Ouirgane (39 km, +1,100 m, −2,000 m)
A 4×4 ride to Amislane (1,800 m), high singletrack, an hour on foot with the mules over a pass, fast pea-gravel trails and an 8 km forest descent to the lake.
-
Kik plateau – Marrakech (28 km, +500 m, −1,100 m)
A relaxed last ride across the Kik plateau: mule trails, small jumps and a loop along a canyon edge. Back in Marrakech by mid-afternoon for a farewell dinner.
