Morocco is one of the few places where you can ride a high-mountain singletrack in the morning and roll through a palm oasis in the afternoon. The High Atlas peaks above 4,000 m, the red stone desert of Agafay, the Dadès and Todra gorges and the dunes of the Sahara make it a year-round destination for every kind of cyclist.
Morocco Cycling Tours runs guided, fully supported rides for every style: mountain bike, enduro, gravel bike, e-bike and road bike. Every trip has a local guide, a support vehicle with spare parts, water and lunch, and rental bikes if you prefer not to travel with your own. Here is what each type of tour is like, so you can choose the one that fits your fitness, your skills and your holiday.
Cross-country mountain biking is the best all-round way to see the High Atlas. Rides follow mule tracks, shepherd paths and village trails between Berber villages in the Imlil, Ourika and Amizmiz valleys, with long climbs rewarded by views of Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak at 4,167 m. Our mountain bike tours in Morocco range from a day in the foothills to multi-day crossings such as the five-day Amizmiz–Imlil–Imenane trip and the six-day Atlas MTB tour from Marrakech. Good fitness and basic off-road skills are enough, and a full-suspension bike is available from our rental fleet.
Enduro riding in Morocco means long, rocky descents on natural singletrack, with the climbs made easier by our support vehicle. Around Oukaïmeden and the Ourika valley in the High Atlas, and in the pink granite landscape of Tafraoute in the Anti-Atlas, the trails are steep, loose and far from the crowds. Our enduro tours include the Oukaïmeden enduro descents, the Anti-Atlas Tafraoute enduro ride and the Atlas singletrack week. Bring a trail or enduro bike and protection, or rent a suitable bike from us.
Gravel suits Morocco perfectly: dirt roads, pistes and quiet tarmac link oases, kasbahs and the edge of the desert. Our gravel bike tours cover the stone desert of Agafay near Marrakech, the Atlantic coast and argan forests around Essaouira, and a multi-day crossing of the Central Atlas from Aït Bougmez to Imilchil. A gravel bike with 35–45 mm tyres is ideal, and our rental fleet includes a Cube Cross Race gravel bike. Read our guide to gravel biking in Morocco.
An e-bike turns Morocco’s big landscapes into a holiday for riders of every level. Pedal assistance lets mixed groups ride together, climb steep valley roads and enjoy long days without exhaustion. Our e-bike tours include the Ourika valley e-bike adventure and the Lalla Takerkoust lake e-bike ride, with routes planned around battery range. We rent electric mountain bikes with full specifications on our bike rental page, and our e-bike tour guide explains what to expect.
Morocco has long mountain roads with little traffic and big climbs. Road riders can take on the Tizi n’Test pass (2,092 m), the Tizi n’Tichka and the Dadès and Todra gorges, with hairpins, long descents and spectacular scenery. Our road bike tours include the Tizi n’Test pass road climb and the Dadès Gorges road odyssey, with a support vehicle following the group with food, water and spare wheels. See our guides to cycling the Tizi n’Tichka and the Dadès and Todra gorges.

Yes. Morocco is a stable and welcoming country with low crime, and rural communities are very hospitable to cyclists. Keep an eye on your belongings in crowded medinas, as you would in any big city. On tour, your guide and support vehicle are with you all day, and guides are first-aid trained.
Yes, it is mandatory for all participants. Your policy must cover medical care while cycling and emergency repatriation from high altitude. Public medical facilities outside the big cities can be limited, so good cover really matters.
To avoid stomach upsets, always drink bottled, purified or filtered water. Our support vehicles carry plenty of fresh bottled water and electrolytes on every riding stage.
